Azawi — born Priscilla Zawedde — swept the 2026 Pearl of Africa Music (PAM) Awards for the third consecutive year, taking home Best Female Artist, Best Album (African Music) and Song of the Year for the anthemic "Majje," in a ceremony that drew 5,000 fans to Kampala's Cricket Oval.
"Three years feels like a dream," Azawi said backstage, visibly emotional. "But this is not just me — it is every Ugandan woman who was told her voice did not matter."
The PAM Awards, now in their 12th edition, are widely regarded as the benchmark for excellence in Ugandan music. This year saw a record 340 nominations across 28 categories.
