The Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) has reported a record 1.4 million international arrivals in 2025, generating $1.2 billion in foreign exchange revenue — a 40% increase from 2024 — driven by peak gorilla trekking bookings and a surge in MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events) tourism following the successful Africa Climate Summit.

UTB CEO Lilly Ajarova said the target for 2026 is 1.8 million arrivals. "We are positioning Uganda as the premier destination for authentic African nature experiences," she said.
