This Labour Day, 1 May 2026, Gulu City Council and Mega FM are partnering for a city-wide tree-planting drive across five of Gulu's public parks: Pece War Memorial Park, Kaunda Road Gardens, Gulu Municipal Stadium Grounds, Layibi Community Park and Laroo Youth Park.
2,000 tree seedlings — including Neem, Mvule and Ugandan Teak — will be planted by volunteers from 8 AM to 12 noon. All volunteers receive a free Mega FM t-shirt, breakfast and a certificate of participation.
To register as a volunteer, call Mega FM on 0782-MEGAFM or sign up at megafm.ug/events. Groups of 10 or more are encouraged to adopt a park section.
"A greener Gulu is a healthier Gulu," said Gulu City Mayor George Lotilla. "We invite every resident to give one morning to their city."
